I started reading the Disney originals because we are all so familiar with their graphics and I wanted to try picture the scenes without seeing the movie this time. A way to improve my English too.
This is such a heartfelt story and I’m sure many of us readers here are empathetic with the lead role - Joe. We are all good at something, but it feels like the skills were never put into good use, upsetting. Well for that, I encounter a quote from the story - “A fish swims up to an older fish and says, ‘I’m trying to find the ocean.’ ‘The ocean?’ says the older fish. ‘That’s what you’re in right now. ‘This?’ says the young fish. ‘This is water. What I want is the ocean.’” Ha ha! I think you all know what I mean now.
Humans are “target driven”, hence this trait of the homo sapiens are wildly evolving, sometimes we forget to take a moment to enjoy once a goal has achieved.
After reading this story I think I took a big breath and took a look at my surroundings - this is much better than I expected, and that should be a moment to reminded myself to smile.
Also I do always think Disney stories are good fit for young readers for true values. Here “to follow your dream” (and giving up is never an option, wink).
Cherish every little moment of your life.
